Hello,

I wonder if "VBR mod (VBR 75 for instance) with WMA Pro 10" (I use dBpoweramp) may not be CBR since either in Foobar2000 or in Winamp (2 to 5), the bitrate displayed is constant.

(whereas concerning mp3's, the bitrate constantly changes)

Maybe Foobar2000 and Winamp can only display average Bitrate of WMA Pro 10 VBR?

I'm a little annoyed as I wanted VBR not CBR, if it really is.

Moreover, about WMA Pro 10, why does Foobar2000 indicates that codec profile is "WMA v9"... I wonder if deconding quality isn't affected or worse than in WMP.

Many thanks in advance.

I think yes. It's interesting that foobar2000 shows the same (incorrect!) bitrate as Windows Explorer, while Winamp and WMP both show correct value.

AFAIK, they both use system WMA decoder.

Strangely enough, "my" Foobar2000 shows the same average bitrage as Winamp or dBpoweramp.

Then, is there any stuff that could indicate me real current bitrate? (so that I can check WMA Pro bitrate distribution on a song, in short, if it does increase bitrare during harsh moments)
A plug-in or another software?

Thus, I have no clue why Foobar says WMA Pro 10 is WMA 9...

Anyhow, thanks for replying lvqcl smile.gif
