I have 1000's of wav files. All of which wmp did it's thing and sorted them when I ripped them or bought them on the net. After countless wmp crashes, I have switched to Foobar and am using the folder view since I have no info in the tagging, I think.

My files look like this:

File Name : 01 Love Sneakin' up on You Bonnie Raitt Longing in Their Hearts.wav

Is it possible to add the data with out ripping everything again?

Unlikely. If the file names like the one you have shown are the only metadata you have, you will need to add artist, album and release year manually. If you have that info in the form of directory names, then you can add the metadata using the full path.

[edit]it seems you have saved the track, song, artist and album in the file name without any clear delimiters... that's really bad.

Next time don't save the files as WAV but in a lossless codec that supports proper tagging. Anyway you will have to convert the WAVs in order to use them in foobar2000 properly.

I hope this helps you decide which codec to use:

If your files are sorted by directory like artist/album/filename, you could use mp3tag to fill a few fields, and then try using mp3tag's tagging feature to find tags based on files.

I don't think there is any really easy way to do this, but you should be able to make folders in your drives and throw the WAV into them.

Then hit mp3Tag and hit then hit (menu on top) Tag Sources, and "determain via web search" If you know the name of the CD then type it in and Mp3tag will return some choices.

I know it's probably a lot more work than you're looking it should work
