I used EAC to copy some cds I saved both the WAV file and MP3 file to My Music in Windows XP. Some how they are saved in My Music as Rhapsody. Documents and I can't burn either the WAV or MP3 file to a CD, nor can I play them on windows media player. I was able to add them to my itunes library. What can I do to get them to burn to a CD and play in Media Player. Please go baby step by baby step because I'm not that great on the computer.

I don't use Rhapsody... I assume you do.
Are you saying the filename got changed? Have you tried changing it back? (Click once and edit, or right-click and select rename.)
Are you sure those files are the actual songs? What are the typical file sizes? (A 4 minute WAV* file will be about 40GB, and a 4 minute MP3 wil be in the ballpark of 4-8 MB, depending on the bitrate.)
Once you recover from this, back-up your files!

* Assuming 44.1kHz, 16 bit stereo (from a CD).

Sorry i didn't get back to you sooner, I had to go out of town for a few days.
I don't use Rhapsody either, as a matter of fact I thought I had completely removed it from my computer a couple years ago, and I am the only one who uses this computer. So I have no idea how this happened.
It is not the file name that got changed. When I place the cursor on a song title a window opens with information about the song like artist, album, etc. One items in the window is Type: and next to it it says Rhapsody. Document.
These are actual songs. I was able to load them into Itunes and play them. but windows media player won't play them or let me burn them to a cd, Nero won't let me burn them either.
Yes, the WAV files are about 40 mb and MP3 files are about 4-8 mb

2 questions:
1) Does it still say Rhapsody Document if you move the file to a directory outside of "My Music", for example to My Documents (root directory)?
2) What is the file extension of the file(s) in question?
C.
MAJOR EDIT:
Ah, it just sounds like an invalid file association:
http://filext.com/file-extension/WAVQUOTE
Rhapsody.Document %ProgramFiles%\Rhapsody\rhapsody.exe %1
I would:
- Uninstall Rhapsody if you haven't already [maybe worth researching what Rhapsody leaves on your system].
- Reboot (if necessary)
- Open Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder options > File Type [Tab] > Scroll Down to WAV [you can delete this association if you don't like "agree with" what remains (especially if it's still Rhapsody.Document) ] > OK and exit.
- Then in explorer right click on the WAV file in question > Open with ... > Choose the program you want associated with that file and tick the box to associate it.
Then report back
as to whether you've still got Rhapsody type (possible) DRM problems. [can't see how as you ripped it from EAC]
ps. I don't use Rhapsody, but I imagine that's a fair start to sorting out the problem.

You might want to run through this to make sure Rhapsody is uninstalled properly/completely:

Hi Carpman, I think we are on the right track here. I moved the files from My music to My documents and they are still listed as Type: Rhapsody.Document..
I am running Windows XP not Vista, but I did some searches on how to completely remove all traces of Rhapsody and RealPlayer and I got that all cleaned up.
Now comes the part where I kind of get lost. I had trouble finding a Folder named DRM, I did a search for it and came up with alot of hits, not sure which one I want.
Also not sure what you mean here:
Open Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder options > File Type [Tab] > Scroll Down to WAV [you can delete this association if you don't like "agree with" what remains (especially if it's still Rhapsody.Document) ] > OK and exit.
Then in explorer right click on the WAV file in question > Open with ... > Choose the program you want associated with that file and tick the box to associate it.
please explain more clearly.
Thanks for all the help so far.

Maybe this will helpfull:
Windows Media Player gives me a couple error messages (Media Player encountered an error trying to burn files), (Insert Blank CD).
Nero tells me (file/folder not found, please verify the correct file name was given).
I have cleaned the laser with canned air and, I tried a different brand of blank CDRs.
When I open the CD folder the song file icon looks like a sheet of paper or book page with the top right corner folded in, a blue musical note on the page and MP3 or WAV under the musical note, depending on the type of file. The Song title is on the right side of the icon.
