I would like to know what it means to each of these - -V 2 --vbr-new --add-id3v2 --ignore-tag-errors --ta "%a" --tt "%t" --tg "%m" --tl "%g" --ty "%y" --tn "%n" %s %d

I'm sorry to be rude but have you ever heard of the search button?

I think you did not understand. I ask what it means to each letter in this line. Eg. - add-id3v2

--add-id3v2 means add id3v2 tags to the file. Anything else?

A logical source of information would be LAME's official documentation, which is available on the project's official site, which is the first result for "LAME" on Google. (Insert comment regarding how I understand why you didn't think of this yourself here.)

1. Note that -v2 is not the same as -V2.
2. Look at http://lame.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/*ch...ml/switchs.html

Look in the links they provided to you. I don't know about the link that lvqcl gave you but the one that dv1989 provided shows the differences between -v and -V. Please read the Lame documentation, it was put on the internet for a reason. ALL of your command line options are explained in the links given to you.

Also you can run cmd.exe, type lame --longhelp and read the output:

VBR options:
-V n quality setting for VBR. default n=4
0=high quality,bigger files. 9=smaller files
-v the same as -V 4
--vbr-old use old variable bitrate (VBR) routine
--vbr-new use new variable bitrate (VBR) routine (default)
