I was just ripping a new cd this morning no scratches or anything on it and it copied over every tune prefect except for the 2nd one. For what ever reason when I click on the mp3 file it seems dead it won't open. I deleted and tryed again but it doesnt work. Whats up with it? Any one experience this aswell? It has happened to me before.

You need to provide more information in order to get any sort of meaningful help. At a minimum you should post the EAC log for the disc you're trying to rip.

What audio/media player are you trying to play the suspect file with?

If you open up the folder in windows explorer, what does it indicate for the suspect file (file size, type, etc.)?

Which media player do you use?
Maybe you use EAC's tagging feature with the newest version ID3v2.4. This version isn't compatible with some media players.

Other possibilities:

* ASPI software is incompatible with your drive
* wrong read mode (usually MMC)

Im trying to play it in itunes

When I run the mouse over it it only has has 3 descrpitions which are the name of the artist, the type of file MPEG Layer 3 Audio and the size which is 8.35mb.

If I run the mouse over the normal mp3 files it gives me about 6 descriptions that artitist, album title, bitrate, Protected, Duration, track no. etc

The log also seems fine

I got it working. I had to rename the file before I ripped for whatever reason but I have it working now. Cheers for the help anyways.

I'm glad that you got it working, but I don't understand what you did. Rename what file?

It looks like the file name was too long. Files, folders, and path names with more than 256 characters are not allowed with Windows XP (don't know about Vista). There are about half that many for the file name in EAC's log though. I have encountered similar issues with file names that were shorter than 256 characters. The track tags would not display and I couldn't add them to iTunes. Renaming the file to a shorter name solved the issue. I wonder if Duck ended up doing the same thing.
