Funniest story of the year (well, at least so far for me). biggrin.gif
It's not easy being an evil metal band!

I allways knew death metal isn't healthy.

Also not healthy for your throat.

Just to be picky, Mayhem is blackmetal wink.gif

And in blackmetal you usually have more screaming/screeching/"grim vocals" (not as gutteral) than growling biggrin.gif

As for this story, I heard about it a few days ago myself. I was going to post a rather largish rant, but decided to spare you all wink.gif

Oh, and for the record, there is quite a lot of extreme metal that has clean vocals, even some very very good vocalists. Some examples are Garm from Ulver/Arcturus (and guest appearances all over the place), Simen from Borknagar (now sadly doing backup(!??!) vocals for Dimmu Borgir), Dax Riggs from Acid Bath/Agents of Oblivion, Jonas Renkse from Katatonia, Aaron Stainthorpe from My Dying Bride, Alexandra Pittracher from Darkwell, Anneke from The Gathering, Tarja from Nightwish, etc. These just happen to be a few of my favorites, but there are literally tons more examples out there. People have this perception that all extreme metal is just growling, and that's not true at all wink.gif

LOL!

OMG im having horrible recollections of my wonderful experience at a concert that was opened by Exhumed where i narrowly avoided getting vomited on by the bassist. Word to the wise, never stand by the subwoofers at a goremetal show.

That was actually going to be a part of my rant.. hehe wink.gif

Not that I was there, but it's the principle of the matter.

Hey, you have to give me credit for at least subcategorizing to an extent beyond the simple scope of metal. smile.gif
I do not know my way around in the world of "gurrl", "gnarrf" and "wuaarrl". biggrin.gif

What type of music does "Sirius" make? There are some discernable vocals here and there but lots of growling/screeching (it varies). Most of their stuff is > 400bpm. I play them when I want to scare my friends. It's great at parties. Someone just put on N'Sync.. put in the Sirius CD and sneak away. Watch their faces. smile.gif

I haven't heard enough of their stuff to say for sure, but from some of the more recent samples I've heard, they appear to be a kind of blackmetal/death metal crossover. Perhaps something like Soulreaper, Myrkskog, or Zyklon. They use more synths than any of these bands though... perhaps on the level of something like Emperor on IX Equilibrium (which might go towards explaining why they are on Samoth's (Emperor/Zyklon's guitarist) label, Nocturnal Art).
