I am certain there are better devices for under $100, but I'm very happy with my sony mdr-ex71 for which I paid less than US$20. Cheap enough that if they break or are stolen, it won't be a disaster; good enough that I am very comfortable using them for ABX testing as well as general listening. To my ears, they're far better than the average under-$50 buds (of which I've tried several), though some may feel they have more bass and upper mids than they should.

Glad to help - was hoping some others would chime in with recommendations too, though...

I'm also a Cowon D2 user, and I recently got the Bose "In-Ear" headphones. Excellent and I'd recommend them, but I have a few issues:
They fall out of your ears (completely normal with in-ear style headphones), I'm just used to supra-aural headphones, so ignore this if you're used to the in-ear style.
They aren't incredibly loud, again pretty standard for this style of headphones, but a big change from what I had previously.

I've used both Sennheiser HD280 Pro and Ultimate Ear Superfi3's on my iAudio7. I had to crank up the volume a bit in order toe hear the HD280's though and the cord is too long for walking around. The UE Superfi3's are nice and crisp and were $75 bucks when I got them.
