I have some 6ch wavpack files, and remember using foobar2000 a while ago to play them in their full multichannel glory, but am now only able to get stereo output from them... ive searched hi and low and tried allsorts, without success....

Could it be that you added the DSP "Convert 5.1 to stereo" in foobar? Also maybe your windows audio settings are set to a stereophonic speaker setup.
