Im using EAC and Lame 3.90.2
after EAC creates the wav file, lame will not start the compression, it acts like it wants to start, as if you were just typing lame.exe at the command line then it closes, this just started happening, it had been working fine for the past few months. setting is --alt preset extreme

any help would be appreciated

try
--alt-preset extreme

if that doesn't work do something like:
--alt-preset extreme %s %d > c:\error.txt
and then check errors.txt in your HD for Lame's console output

If that still doesn't clarify your error try to use LAME as a 'User defined encoder'

my fault, your right im sure i have the alt preset typed in wrong
