Read an article about hearing loss
guess what

Hearing loss start at the aage of:

males blink.gif ~30
females ~50

males = high freq. hearing loss
females = low freq. loss

MAIN CAUSES OF HEARING LOSS
1. medicine
2. AMPLITUDED MUSIC!!!!!!

I love loud music, I'm really worry, just don't know what will happen to my ear at the age~30

What article?

I have a hard time believing that women are so mutated from men (or the other way around) that their hearing falls off from the other side of the spectrum.

Have you ever seen what happens to a man's ears on his 30th birthday? It's not a pretty sight. :x

And if medicine is the #1 killer of hearing ability, I'd be more worried about those cough syrup daiquiris than metal concerts.

There are plenty of interviews with old partially deaf record producers out there
who regret not taking precautions early on. You could end up just like them,
except not famous enough to get interviewed.

If you are concerned enough, get some "musician's ear plugs," which
are supposed to give a neutral attenuation, for concerts, and turn down
your stereo.

I generally use disposable plugs for concerts, and muffs like airport runway workers
wear when I'm using loud powertools.

To main causes of loss you can add the epidemic of ear infections
that kids today are getting which can leave scars on the ear drums.

It's not 1st but it's one of..... rolleyes.gif

Only some medicine, not all

Working environment too is one of the main causes

They are...(here's proof)

The inventor Arthur Davidson, of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Corporation, died and went to heaven.

At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur, "Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles
have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want in Heaven."

Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, "I want to hang out with God."

St. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room, and introduced him to God.

Arthur then asked God, "Hey, aren't you the inventor of woman?"

God said, "Ah, yes."

"Well," said Arthur, "professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention.

1. There's too much inconsistency in the front-end protrusion.
2. It chatters constantly at high speeds.
3. Most of the rear ends are too soft and wobble too much.
4. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust. And finally,
5. The maintenance costs are outrageous."

"Hmmm, you may have some good points there," replied God. "Hold on."

God went to his Celestial super computer, typed in a few words and waited for
the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.

"Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed," God said to Arthur,
"but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours."

FUNNY the article state that :

I'm not sure but it should be like that
There are tiny " hearing hairs" in coclea almost similar to piano strings
The hair is specific for each freq. If one breaks, it will not recover.

Well actually, it's more like this:
Sound makes air vibrate which makes ear drum vibrate. Ear drum vibrations make a triad of three small bones connected to the ear drum also vibrate (the so-called hammer, anvil and I don't know the english name for the other one). This triad of bones is the "middle ear" (from your ear to the ear drum is called "outer ear"), they are connected to the coclea in which this vibrations stimulate the "strings" you referred to.

Middle ear infections accumulate pus which can, if sufficient amount is built up, break through the ear drum. In time, a scar is formed. If this happens many times, the scarring renders the ear drum "stiff" making it less sensitive to vibration, thus producing hear loss.

Hope this makes things clearer.

if you have good speakers you needn't listen very loud to music anymore. most speakers/amps sound good when playing music loud. only good speakers/amps sound good (still much dynamic) when playing with not so much power.

i often notice that with my crappy pc speakers (creative inspire) i listen to music very very loud. at my stereo i don't do that most of the time. still loud but not that loud.

That is correct too. It is what happens quickly when you listen to too loud music all the time, and will happen to everyone as they grow old. Every now and then a hearing hair breaks, and since they don't recover, everyone gradually loses some hearing ability. This process occurs much faster if you abuse your ears ofcourse.
Scarring of your ear drums would usually not be due to loud sounds. It could, but that would require something like a cannon being fired next to your ear.

If I'm not wrong the hearing loss starts very soon, because under 18 years we are able to hear higher frequencies such as 19Khz and then the ability decrease.
I've read that at 25-30 often the max. frequency that can be heard is 17,5-18 Khz (if not less) and over 50 is 16 Khz.
