Hello.

Have an Optiarc AS-7200S SATA DVD burner - firmware level 1.0B and while installing EAC, it informs me that this drive DOES NOT cache audio data.

Wanting to verify this I ran cachex http://club.cdfreaks.com/f52/cache-explorer-184487/ which seems to indicate that the drive DOES cache audio data (see pic)

Can anyone confirm what setting I should use in EAC for this drive?

Thanks!

You may safely tell EAC that this drive does not cache audio data.

If [...] your drive [...] caches less than 64 KB of data, then cache flushing isn't necessary (ignore the reported buffer size when using cache explorer). The reason for the 64 KB barrier is that EAC will never request less than this amount while ripping.

Thanks greynol! What part of the cachex report indicates that it caches less than 64KB? (Just curious)

The part that it says your drive has a cache line size of 4 kB / 2 sectors
