Hey everyone

I'm having a wierd problem with my computer. Whenever I listen to music, watch movies or play games, the sounds tends to clip, as in, it plays normally, and in between time and again I get those clicks which last a milli second or so. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. I've tried reinstalling Windows but no help.

Heres my config:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200
ATI 4850 1GB
4GB 800Mhz RAM
Gigabyte G31 S2C mobo
Integrated Realtek HD Sound

Any help?

I don't know if my situation is similar to you but I also use Windows 7 64-bit. The sound was distorted as if it was "over-driven" over the peak. I turned the volume down and it's gone. I think it's a buggy driver.

I can only guess, but it's probably that the Realtek 64-bit Win7 drivers are not fully debugged yet.

"Clicking" is different from clipping. Clipping is distorted flat-topped waves. With clipping, you hear distortion during loud parts.

That is clipping. It's probably not a bug. You're probably just applying too much gain.
