It is possible to get an useable MPC encoder sourcecode. I need it for a MPC Nero plugin. I have tried to search on the official page, but seems to be available only a weired unusable file which seems to be compressed in weired format.
Where I have to search?

There's only source code for SV8 available.
SV8 will be open source so I guess you have to wait.

I think many would allready be happy to just have an mpc decoding plugin for nero. Direct link to the source on Case's page. If you could create such a plugin, that would be fabulous!

just out of curiosity why isn't SV7 open source? IMHO open source software programms are always the best in their field, highly tuned, bugless, ( take for example LAME, pgp, etc etc.)
is it definite that SV8 will be open source? Does it worth waiting before (permanently) switching to MPC?
Do we know when SV8 will be ready?

Thank you!

I don't think that the open-sourceness of the encoder should have anything to do with 'switching'. In this particular case - should you like the results (fastest speed, best SQ in 160+kbps) just do it smile.gif

Well, it depends on what you want to use it for. If you want to modify it to integrate it with another product (say, Nero) and cannot do so due to its source code not being available, then it's useless for that purpose, regardless of any other things it may be good at.

@Delirium: my reply was addressed solely to alfa156, who asked about 'switching to mpc' - ment encoding with I guess.

Well, we havent heard from Frank for some time now, but actually this may be a good sign, you never know wink.gif ..... the site is all prepared ( thanks to phase ) and the corecodec.org CVS is working 100% stable for the matroska project ( better than sf.net ), so all eyes are on Frank now ....
