Adobe Audition 3 has an option to make a visual image of music data called spectral pan display, with this option you are able to compare different recordings using different drives, software for ripping and burning to cd. After months of testing and comparing these visual displays I have come to the fact that there are only two programs for ripping which were capable of making identical displays all other programs created an display of its own character only adobe audition 3 and EAC made identical images. Burning programs were also tested and there is only one which really burned an identical image and that is Nero. Al others were imperfect some worse than others, second most accurate was plextools; one of the worst was alcohol 120%. I personally own 5 drives 4 of which are plextors the other is an NEC and now a SONY NEC. Comparing the drives that I own plextor was perfect the others I did not test with adobe audition but by listening tests and it was obvious that plextor sound is far better, more accurate compared to the original cd. Every cdrom has different characteristics in ripping and replaying compared to each other and in itself in other words the cdrom could rip correctly but plays incorrectly. “Note” there are no copy’s that are exact the same as the original, the testing through visual spectral pan display is an method that can be used to eliminate the obvious errors encountered in copying audio cd’s. Not all characteristics of audio are known by science as for example “the tone of a sound”. This aspect alone is so complicated that it is not even known what it is exactly but this problem if it is a problem seems to be accompanied by all our senses. Not everything can be determined or explained scientifically. Hopefully I have helped some people with my months of intensive testing and sharing the results.
