How could I import the complete database from Nero to EAC?

Nice greetings, Dirk
pdq
What database are you talking about? I was not aware that either of these programs had one.
Dirki
Thank you pdq.

I mean the IDX files, e.g. CAO4.IDX.

Nice greetings, Dirk

What are they used for and what would it do for you to import them into EAC?
Dirki
Thanks pdq.

What are they used for...

They store data like interpret, title...

I am not quite sure to understand, but to have the data available in EAC, in its database.

Thanks again. Nice greetings, Dirk

OK, so I guess you are saying that Nero stores information about any CD that it records. If this information were transferred to EAC, what would that do? Provide this information to EAC when you rip a CD that you made yourself? Why would you do that?

In that case, it's simple: Use CD-TEXT. Then you store the title directly on the CD and it will show up in EAC automatically.

I however don't understand why you would ever rip your burned CD's...
Dirki
Thanks pdq.

Yes, if you want so or special CDs or some tracks of a CD...

Yes, for example.

Why would you do that?

Because I might have entered text, edited e.g. titles, track names, album names by myself (I could not download anywhere) etc. or I easily could see, whether I had copied the actual CD already (and would avoid copying a second time) or I could see which tracks of a single CD I might have copied already and I would have all tracks, albums etc. of CDs I have ever copied in one single database / place I could search / browse in.

Nice greetings, Dirk

Thank you, odyssey.

Yes, but I am afraid, that would be too late now for doing that...at least for the data in the existing database / files of Nero.

Actually I do not plan to do this, but if the need be I would, e.g. if I would have lost the music files stored on the hard disk. But the need to do it had never been occurred until now. I would rather have the data / all the data of all the CDs I have ever copied be available in one single place.

Nice greetings, Dirk

You know that a backup-harddrive would almost be cheaper than burning CD's and a lot faster, right? (and you get to keep tags, etc and not to worry about the increased risk of errors when you rip again?)
Dirki
Thank you odyssey.

Yes, I am, and there are some more advantages. I rip all (original) CDs to the hard disk (and yes, I do not plan to double rip and would avoid doing it because of this risk / of may be causing lower quality.

Nice greetings, Dirk
