I don't seem to ever update my EAC software unless I am reloading my system...

And since I just loaded up Windows 7, I am in that very situation now...

Looking at the HydrogenAudio Wiki, it indicates that the "stable release" is v0.95b4, which is what I ran years ago... In the meantime there have been several revs...and looks like the current revision is v0.99pb5 (I am assuming this "pre-beta" is likely not to be stable)...

What is the general concensus on stable EAC version today? Is it really still the same version I ran years ago??? I figure it must be somewhere in between what I am running and the current pre-beta...

Well, I don't recall the prebeta crashing upon me. Haven't had any trouble with it in any other regards.

(Of course doesn't mean that there are no bugs or known problems.)

Some problems are reported with EAC (0.99 pb5) and Windows 7 by some people (especially on 64 bit systems). But I guess that these problems would also be present in the previous versions of EAC. So, try the latest version, should as stable as it gets.

Some people report crashes in some dialogs to chose files/folders (access violations, etc - mostly in 64 bit systems).
Also, there might be system stuttering while using IDE drives in combination with some read commands (see here - ok, in this case it was my fault assuming that the IDE port is fully supported by the Win7 drivers).
