Hello

I try to use fb2k as standard CD player, but that noise...
I have installed this program http://cdslow.webhost.ru/ to slow down CD, but fb2k seems reset CD speed between tracks, and at the next track is "wroooooshhh" again.
I suppose that it will be nice if the included component foo_cdda had an option to slow down CD itself or at least doesn't reset speed (I don't know why it is happen).
Or, advice something else except making rip from CD before listening smile.gif

Thanks

PS: sorry for my poor English

Got answer from CDslow developer: you can enable timer in CDslow to set speed automatically.
Still, I want "right" behavior from fb2k.

In foobar2000, go to File>Play audio CD. In the dialog box that pops up, choose your CD drive, then press the Properties button. There should be an option there to reduce the drive speed (this is from memory so might not be exact).

Sorry, my recollection wasn't quite right. It should be File->Open Audio CD..., then click your drive and click the Drive Settings button (top right of the popup window). Then tick the Limit Drive Speed option.

I remember having the same whoooshing sound the drive made when spinning up a new track back in foobar2000 0.8.3 before discovering that drive setting smile.gif

Ticking the limit drive speed option will mean that when you want to rip a CD you are going to have to remove the tick in that check box, or else your rip speed will be very slow, right? It would be good if you can choose to limit drive speed only for playback...

Thanks, it works!
I thought that option will be in Preferences... but can't fing it.
Now I can see that foobar2000 is realy for music lovers smile.gif

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the case. Although the rip speed would be slower, it also reduces the chances of errors creeping into the ripped tracks... but then again that's what EAC is for smile.gif I agree that it'd be nice to have separate limit drive speed options for playback and ripping.
