Full Version: MAss FLAC conversion (as needed) to v.1.2.1, Level 8?

I know there are several threads on this topics. I have voiced in most of them.

I am looking for way to convert about 7,500 FLAC files to the latest version, with highest compression.

ReFlacer and several of the batch scripts I have seen and tried don't seem to work with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 so I need an alternative.

Only some of the 7,500 files need to be "brought up" to 1.2.1, Level 8. Surely there is a way to do this? Can foobar2000 do this?

Thanks for insights.

That depends on how paranoid you are. Technically speaking, this command would accomplish what you're after:

CODE
for /r %i in (*.flac) do start /low /wait flac --best --force "%i"

See this thread (though it's for 1.1.3)

With fb2k you could search your music library to find which files are not version 1.2.1. But afaik you can't find out the compression level.

Funny you should ask, I am running a full conversion of my Flac files as I type on my Windows 7 Professional x64 system. What you need to do is change the reflacer.exe object to XP SP3 compatibility mode http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vis...atibility-mode/

It works great for me although the program seems to crash on certain files (some kind of windows System.Data.ConstraintException error), you may have better luck
