Conditions:
- 32bit Vista, nvidia gtx 260 (latest drivers), xonar dx soundcard
- No aero
- Only non-standard components are ipod manager and cd burning utility
- Foobar is not minimized, but it doesn't seem to matter if it is the foreground window or not
- Running spectrum with 160 bars (have not checked to see if it crashes on lower bar setting)
- Song playing
It happens after (as far as I can tell) an indeterminate amount of time. Sometimes soon after I start playing a song, sometimes it'll go for many songs with no problem. There are three types of crashes that occur, gfx display driver resets with no interruption of sound (but screen goes black for a tick), gfx driver resets and sound cuts out (comes back with display), and sometimes the screen flickers and generally spazzes out before vista steps in and restarts the display driver.
Pretty sure it is the spectrum visualizer, as the crash doesn't happen if I don't have spectrum up. I can live without spectrum, but it's nice to have.
Not sure if nvidia or the spectrum element is to blame here. If I were to talk out of my ass I'd say it seems like some kind of buffering/memory overload problem.
If anyone has any insights or fixes I'd appreciate it.
