New MPC plugin (1.0.0.25) is back today. I've just tested it.
It works fine for decoding, encoding and burning. wink.gif

Unfortunately, MPC plugin freezes when I go from "wave display" to "spectrogram display" in the wave editor. mad.gif But that's not the most important issue, I guess.

Nero 5.5.10.28
MPC plugin 1.0.0.25

Release 1.00.12 works fine here, including when I go from "wave display" to "spectrogram display" in the wave editor.

the 1.0.0.25 is working again for me, except the "spectrogram display" in waveditor. but it doesn't really crash the prog, it just takes almost forever to get the display! just wait a few minutes, as i mentioned before. biggrin.gif

1.0.0.12 is not working here, it freezes at 99% in waveditor when doing the peak thingy.

How can I check the number of 'other I/O' ?

You have to go into "Display-> Select columns" having the process tab in front view of tasks manager (poor traduction I think;). But I'm not sure it is the main reason for slowdown, but mppdec.exe takes LOT less 'Other I/O'. If someone could bring help about this value... ?

No, I see nothing special concerning mppdec.exe. Maybe it depends on the plugin version which is used or on your computer system. I don't know actually.

Try the latest version anyway. Could be better.

looking at the taskmanager when doing the "spectrogram view", there are from time to time up to about 10 mppdec.exe opened. unsure.gif
very strange...

there's nothing like this when burning a CD. but honestly i have to say, so far i never really burnt a CD using this plugin, just made images.

A new MPC plugin has been released:

Version: 1.0.0.26
Date: May 12, 2003

I've just tested the new MPC plugin (1.0.0.26).
Works for: encoding & decoding.
Doesn't work for: burning (DAO mode not supported) and still the same problem with the wave editor.
Can somebody else confirm this?

So I keep using the previous version 1.0.0.25.
By the way, the OGG plugin has alway been working well, whichever version.

I can confirm several buffer underruns when burning MPC files in DAO mode. Of course, SmartBurn didn't let the burn procedure fail. I already reported the problem to Mausau.

I“m even not able to download the MPC-plugin v1.0.0.26 from May, 12th. :-(

A new MPC plugin has been released:

Version: 1.0.0.27
Date: May 13, 2003

Mausau told me that there are some tweaks in this release. I will test ASAP.

The 1.0.0.27 release is working again for me smile.gif , except the "spectrogram display" in waveditor sad.gif .

Anyone ask for APE tag support? It would be useful for CD text burns
JamesBond
i'm still sticking to the .25, coz .26 and .27 do read the peaks much slower in waveditor.

I've previously stated that 1.0.0.23 version works fine for me. But today I tried it again, and the same problem appeared again (extremely slow decoding). To write half of CD took about 1.5 hours. Then I switched nero task priority from high to low and the rest of CD was burned in a minute or two. So now I'm with 1.0.0.12 version again, it works completely ok for me. I didn't extensively test audio editor with it though. I'll try the latest 1.0.0.27 today...

Apparently, the plugin fails to recognise mpc files with ID3v1 tags, according to this thread:

http://www.kingofklopapier.de/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5

I'm guessing this hasn't been mentioned yet because few people use ID3 tags in mpc files. Worth submitting as a bug though.

(I don't know if posting the link to the thread violates forum rules...if it does, I apologise)

edit: link now points to actual forum thread

I never used id3 tag with MPC and every release up to 1.00.12 fails in my system

I'm using Nero MPC plugin 1.0.0.26 and have a Yamaha CRW-F1 burner. I have just burnt a CD-audio direct from mpc files with ID3v1 tags using 'Audio Master Quality Recording' mode with very good results. This Yamaha recording mode is failry slow, with an emphasis on quality of burning (not the issue here), so I'm not sure whether 44x recording DAO would work.

Still, that's still a huge benefit to now have MPC compatability with Nero. I no longer have to decode to wav first.

hint: i“ve had the problem too, when decoding-on-the-fly for burning (sometimes worked, sometimes not).

when looking at the dosbox when decoding via musedrop (using the original mpcdec.exe) i noticed a message like bad file fromat, removing id3v2 tags (first 1000 bytes or something like that) and then it decoded fine.

then i removed all id3v2 tags of the mpc-files that didn“t burn with nero (5.5.10.42) e voila everything fine.

maybe it“s just that.
