I have some MP3s that were ripped from burned CDs with gap-settings of 2 seconds. I want to cut 2 seconds off the end of the files, I know mp2DirectCut can do this losslessly. When I do a batch convert, and select "Cut 2 seconds from end" more than 2 seconds are cut off. Does anyone know what the correct value to use to remove exactly 2 seconds off the end of each track?

Since the size of an mp3 frame is 1152 samples, you cannot remove exactly 2 seconds.

If your player support gapless playback of LAME encoded files you can use pcutmp3.

Ok but maybe as close to 2 seconds as possible. The 2 seconds option removes 4 seconds off the file blink.gif If I select .25 seconds then 2 seconds are removed.

So if selecting 2 seconds removes significantly more than 2 seconds, how does one remove as close to 2 seconds off the end of the file, if this option is not even remotely close. Is this a bug, or something ? unsure.gif
