using 0.9.6.9, but had same problem in prior versions

after adding a streaming playlist item, i'm unable to edit the metadata. i can change it (either from the playlist or properties), but the changes won't apply and the 'apply' button is grayed out. is there a way to do this?

you can try foo_customdb
if you are playing some radio stream i.e. you can assign custom fields for that station based on %path%, as comment or similar. other fields as title/artist are dynamically assigned

thanks for the help. i'll take a peek at foo_customdb. there's an option in foobar to disable dynamic titles and i thought this might allow editing the fields, but apparently not.

Foobar2000 stores tags in files. Apparently that's impossible for streams. Don't search for hidden meaning in foobar2000 configuration directives, there are none.

i'm interested in this, rather than loading another plugin, but haven't been able to figure out how to do it. i know how to create a custom field, but how do i base it on a %path% and is the %path% you're talking about a variable as (%path%), or a static path?

That is with another component - foo_customdb:

With this setup, you'll get context menu for setting comment on http streams. Then just use %comment% field to present the info. Also you can change "name" and "field" values to different name instead comment
