Do you download them, then upload to your site and use (img]http:\your_site/blah.gif[/img] in forums, or just take the links from that site and use (img]http://bestsmileys.com/blah.gif[/img] without downloading and uploading?

You just link directly and insert them as an image.

u can do both, the second is easier, but its not fair cause u will be stealling bandwidth and the url may change.
