Hi,

I'm looking for a Winamp plugin allowing winamp to play aac files. I just downloaded and installed in_mp4_09082002.exe from audiocoding.com, but it's not working. The aac files I have were coded by the autoaacenc.exe, Astrid Quartex v02 and play well on kjöfol.
When I reinvoked Winamp after the installation of in_mp4_09082002.exe it showed me the aac files in the add file dialog - it had not done this before - but when I opened them the file names only showed up briefly in the songs window, then disappered except for numbers 1. and 2. (I had opened 2 aac files). I can't play them - nothing happens when I click Winamp's play button. The play slider doesn't show up either.

Anybody know what might be the reason? I have Winamp 2.80 under Win98SE. It plays mp3 and other file formats without problems. Anything I might have done wrong, to regard when installing in_mp4_09082002.exe?

Astrid Quartex is not any true AAC codec, so it will never play with AAC-plugins.

Do a search for "Astrid" in the forum of http://www.audiocoding.com, this codec did not use the standard ADTS or ADIF headers in an AAC bitstream, as far as I know.
