I need a app that will encode all my mp3`s to mpc 1 by 1. it must be GUI app
i search at this forum but i only found one **beta** (buggy) app that isn`t working.
or can you tell me another way to
1. decode mp3 to wav
2. encode that wav in same folder to mpc without me. in batch mode?

DON'T DO IT! KEEP YOUR EXISTING MP3 FILES! THE MPCS YOU WILL GET WILL SOUND LIKE CRAP, AND ONLY HARM MPC'S REPUTATION! (something that MPC does certainly not deserve)

Heh, I wasn't reading too closely. I thought he wanted to transcode his mpc to mp3s (for portable use or something, which is ok).

the only transcoding that should EVER be done is going from a higher quality file to a lower quality.... NOT the other way around...

Oh sage people, what if you had downloaded a 320Kbps mp3 file and your music collection was made up from 192Kbps mpc files, for space considerations, then you could have a reason for going mp3 >> mpc.

Some people need to step off their high horses once in awhile.

That shouldn't be done either, transcoding to take in your portable is the only logical reasoning I can see for this. Just don't mix em up with your archive, and don't forget comment tags are your best friend.

yeah, seriously... didn't we all get sick of downloading shoddy mp3s, hense moving to higher quality formats? the last thing we need are shoddy mpcs...

320k MP3 is nothing compared to standard MPC. Bitrates don't matter here...

Convert the original WAVs to MPC, not the MP3s. And don't convert the MP3s to WAVs then to MPCs. Going from one lossy format to another simply takes more out of the original, and it'll sound worse.
