We decided to improve TwinVQ algorithm with latest MPEG-4 bandwidth extension - Spectral Band Replication (SBR)

MPEG-4 TwinVQ + SBR will be called vqfPro and expected to be CD quality at 32 kb/s!!

VQF, as everybody knows, is a major breakthrough in audio coding technology - with 50% improvements over MP3, and with bandwidth extension it gets additional 30% of bit rate savings.

Special Pre-Post-Echo-Away™ (similar but better than TNS) is used to reduce small problems VQF had with transients.

Additional WMA-Death™ vbr quality control with multi-pass will bring audio quality to completely new levels.

Expect beta versions soon.

Nice try... wink.gif

Why do these April jokes only pop up in "General AAC"? shifty.gif

@Ivan:

Blah ! Your approach looks pale and obsolete to me, in comparison with my Rotated Wavelets © ™ neural network approach, which beats CD at GSM bitrates ! wink.gif This reduces the problem of psychoacoustic to a simple degree-1024 pneumo-morphic polynomial..

Also, the compression speed is interesting: about 1200X on a basic Thrillium (=pentium XVXMMIICLV), after 15 years of optimization by an alien programmer (=me).. by the way, the algorithm is so powerful, it can solve a level of Sokoban in just a few hours, by blasting through the walls and pulling the crates ® © ™ laugh.gif
