I've encoded CD album (imaged as one WAV) to mpc by mppenc 1.14 with --quality 5 --xlevel and to mp3 by lame 3.90.2 with --alt-preset standard -Y (first for PC listening, second for portable smile.gif I have been surprised with resulting bitrate: it was 165kbps for mpc and 196kbps for mp3. I thought --aps with -Y should be smaller or at least somewhere near...
Can explain me why? Is it normal (predictabled) case or some was incorrect, may be something with source?

MPC's more efficient with the VBR.

Lame APS -Y is smaller than Lame APS, not MPC standard.
