Hi all.
From a time to now I use RazorLame as frontend to
encode with LAME...
I realized that there are several frontends out there
so what is your choice as frontend to lame...?
There are another interesting options?
Thanks a lot in advance for yourt opinions.

I use fast, simple CD-->EAC-->MP3 gives you a log with settings used so you know the quality.
These are IMO the best:

Hi,
For a while I used RazorLame, then I found EasyLame which is just a RazorLame bundle and installer (makes things easier :-)). Now I just use Exact Audio Copy, I had been ripping all my CD's to WAV with this prior to converting with RazorLame anyway so it made sense just to do it all in one go, with the one program. The results are the same and the operation is more streamlined rather than jumping from one program to the other.

Speek's all2lame, just faster than typing commandline stuff, but still you have full control over commandline options. Basically it just makes a batch file for ya

Above all it's one of few frontends that support gapless encoding (--nogap switch).

No, I'm not kidding. Full access to all the functions and no bugs!
If I need to use a frontend it is winLAME, which is much than just a simple lame frontend, but also a great tool for transcoding (use with care!), which comes quite handy, if you are limited to 32MB on your portable.
I also use it for decoding full mp3 albums (uses libmad decoding).

I use and recommend Speek's frontends:
All2Lame or
MultiFrontend.
Both are very compact and give you full access to command line options.

Misses one option I think: set priority to idle. Wim (Speek) has made some adapted versions for me which start go.bat (and therefore) Lame.exe in idle priority (works in NT/2000/XP only), but I really think it is a must for encoding to give the encoder idle priority from within the frontend...

Hey, I'm new to Mp3 encoding. I have used EAC for CD Ripping and copying, but I'm having troubles using EAC with LAME. It's not encoding the files, I'm not sure why.
Edit: Nevermind. I searched and found something buried in another post explaining the need to use the setting "user defined encoder."

I've never had problems using the "LAME Mp3 encoder" parameter passing scheme.
Don't know why everyone seems to have trouble with it...
