This week I hear mostly MP3s encoded with LAME 3.90.2 (Dibrom's) --alt-preset fast extreme -Z --lowpass 21. Sounds good (even to me) and I don't remind anything annoying... but for sure I'd like to know if someone tested it more thoroughly (the fast option) and if there's any substantial difference between extreme and fast extreme. I know Dibrom's opinion about the -Z switch but I know there are another opinions (maybe not so qualified, but they exist) finding it quite useful... I haven't found any thread on the topic.

The fast option will never be as good as the non-fast option, otherwise I would have just defaulted everything to fast. This is according to most of the test samples that were used for tuning (many of which can be found on this site).
