Ok maybe now it's the place to say again. It's a very personal opinion so no offense. Don't you think the Vorbis site is designed absolutely poorly and all the comments are disturbingly childish+tasteless? It has this forced sense of humor which gets on my nerves. I am an admirer of open source projects as well as Vorbis so please take it as a positive criticism. But whenever I was using Vorbis and checking for updates and Vorbis development I had the impression of a project of a bunch of naughty kiddies. I very much prefer Frank Klemm's site: bland but concise and professional (reminds me of FreeBSD site a little bit).

Note: This post is not about codec zealotry and has no intentions to start flamewar.

Vorbis.com is meant to appeal masses.
Klemm's site is purely technical, which would only scare them.. wink.gif

Mgz: there's nothing really newsworthy that's happened in the past week; Monty made some mods to stuff to remove calls to malloc(). However valuable this is, it's not particularly exciting. Carsten is fairly dependable; however, newsworthy activities aren't. I'd put in a plug for the cvs list (presumably cvs@xiph.org), but I'm not sure how to subscribe to it offhand—though you could probably synthesize the information you need by looking at two other lists and finding out how the signup process differs.
