I'm going to upgrade my PC audio. I've narrowed it down to the M-Audio Revolution 7.1, and the Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1.
I'm leaning more towards the Prodigy 7.1. It has digital in and out, and claims to have a "High-Fidelity Integrated Headphone Amp". Not sure is that's just marketing BS.
Does anyone have one of these cards, or a link to some reviews of it. I sure would like to know how it stacks up.
Thanks,
indybrett
Edit:
I forgot to mention. CompuUSA has both cards for $99

Unless you really need a digital in, the Revolution should be just fine - I just got one 4 days ago and it's fantastic! 1.4 ms output latency using ASIO! I expected to get 3 or so, but I can get 1.4!!! Software synths are finally fun to play from a MIDI keyboard! Anyway, I'd recommend the Revolution - it sounds great. Plus, the Revolution's line in has 3dB more dynamic range (I challenge you to find a source that would actually use the 105dB, though - it'd be hard). The ability of the Prodigy to load VST effects and apply them to outgoing audio sounds quite interesting, though.

ooo... That Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 sure looks sexy. I never had seen or heard of it til now

Yeah, I think so too.
I know the Revolution is a good card. I could play it safe and go with that. But I sure like what I see with the Prodigy. I really could use a digital input.
Reading the manual, I see that you can also mirror the front l/r signal to the rear output. That's nice. You can have headphones plugged into the front input, and two channel speakers plugged into the rear output. Same 2 channel audio signal on both.
Decisions...decisions...
Here's a review of the Audiotrak Prodigy192... They didn't like the sound quality of the DAC...
http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/display...0415170229.htmlNot really sure about Prodigy 7.1, if it has the same Sigmatel ST9460 codec, then I don't really expect much.....

I read this review on the Terratec card. Nice and technical, but it doesn't seem to give an overall thumbs up or thumbs down.

Hehe - I got my Revolution to play 2 different songs to the front/rear channels. You could go crazy and play 4 different songs to the 4 outputs if you wanted to

(of course, the Prodigy should be able to do that too).

Trying to figure out what DAC chips are used, I think this is it:
Prodigy 7.1 uses WM8770IFT
Revolution 7.1 uses EKD4355
Prodigy 192 uses Sigma-Delta (not sure of number)

Well, I bought the Prodigy. Don't have a digital camera, but I made a scan with my cheezy scanner if anyone wants to have a look at the chips. It's kinda dark, but if viewed at 100% resolution, most of the stuff can be read.

Could you please also make a few driver screenshots?

I'll make some when I get home. Now that I've had the card for awhile, I can tell you that I have ran into some static/noise issues.
There is another thread that talks about it.

I read that.
Still, I heard that it's drivers I quite good compared to Aureon, so a few screenshots would be nice

Hmmm... it looks really cool (definitly better than TerraTec Aureon 7.1 one)

I do really like the card, the features, and the software. Hopefully when I upgrade my MB and CPU the static problems will go away completely.
Downgrading to Win2000 from XP helped alot. As did installing the Via 4in1 chipset drivers.
One of the reasons I bought this card is I wanted the digital input and the headphone amp. Both of which are great features.

Since M-Audio Rev, Terratec Aureon and the Prodigy all use the same chipset, how stupid would it be to try the drivers of one of the other cards?

You need to flash Aureon's rom with Prodigy's one, otherwise they won't work.
Revo is a bit different card, I doubt you will succed in that.

I think your problem might be caused by Sensaura. Install the latest, v.1.90 Prodigy 7.1 driver, located here:
http://www.audiotrack.co.kr/pds/Prodigy71-v190.zipand use the device labelled "Prodigy 7.1" for general listening/editing/whatever, while "Sensaura 3D" for gaming (select via control panel > sounds and audio devices).

Guess I need to learn how to read Korean. The latest driver on the English website is 1.7 Beta. I'll give it a try.
Some comments and RMAA measurements from one user of the Prodigy 7.1:

Yees, the previous driver version, wich had Sensaura enabled all the time, did have strange issues. That's why I haven't looked into the eeprom flashing thing earlier.
Just look at the different RMAA results of the Aureon Space (there's more of them than the Prodigy's). Quality is always excellent, slightly surpassing Audigy2. Since they ARE the same cards, performance will be identical.

Now why is it that the English version of their webage doesn't have the current drivers? I'll never be able to get the newest drivers unless I learn Korean.
Edit: Do you think it would help to email them and ask this question?

Audiotrak is Korea based - that's why the Korean website is most up to date.
Navigating through that site is quite easy, downloads should always be under this link:
http://www.audiotrak.co.kr/ct/read.htm?sm_..._id=db&sb_id=-3(the link says

, the menu is just under the banner/logo)
Product names are readable.
I've e-mailed them about EAX 3 support, wich they announced on the Korean website. In response, they've pulled all the info, but did confirm it. It seems that they do not yet want everybody to know about this, so let's not do things like i.e. ask Creative's Harvey Fong about it... whooops, too late, somebody already did that (not me).

But if so, why did they bring that up in the first place? No idea.

The 1.9 drivers have a whole new set of problems for me. The Clone4WayMode only works intermittently now.
Probably go back to the 1.6 drivers.
Good grief...
This card has so much potential, but I'm about to throw it out the window.
