The company behind this new software is Mayah, a german hard- and software manufacturer for professional broadcasting studios. The most interesting claim for their brand new mp3PRO player is the "real-time playback of streamed files", because this would mean that it can buffer mp3PRO files which is important for dialup connections with a modem.
The commercial version of their player is an all-in-one app with much more features and costs EUR 29.95.
There's also a MP3 editor available for free that can cut files without the need to decode them first (like mp3DirectCut).
And they installed a web forum with several boards, so you can ask your questions there, e.g "Why OGG, why not AAC?" or "Why no AAC+ support yet?" etc....
