I've bougt it a coupele weeks ago. And now I have problem... on some mp3's it's 'blurping' on right channel.
I don't know whats happen? Maybe somebody had the same problem and can tell me something...
I am really confused, is it faulty or what?

I had this problem too, so it isn`t only your player fault : try to burn mp3-cds/cdrw in different ways, try not to close session, I think this player is sensitive for various ways of cd burning

I'm not sure but it looks like 'blurping or not blurping' depends on mp3 (the way it is encoded) not on the way it's burned...

Did you try to contact service and complain?

As i observed (I have SM-60), the 'blurping' occurs in all mp3's encoded with LAME in true stero mode (not joint stereo). I Wonder if Samsung's decoder is faulty or there is something wrong with LAME.

Yet another broken decoder.

Yet another broken decoder.

...questions
1. Is it safe to use alt preset settings with it?
I mean if it is problem with "different block sizes" in aps encoded mp3?
2. If there is problem with aps, which settings should I use?
3. When LAME will be supporting special option for such a broken decoder?

Greetings
Gabriel
Lame (right now) is able to use different block sizes on left and right only in stereo mode. As alt-presets are using joint stereo, the problem is not present when using those presets.

Allowing a special option for broken decoders is on the to-do list for 3.94

Thanks!

There is a same problem with Samsung MM-ZB9 (micro-HIFI).
I've found above Lame 3.87 it fails (blurping on right channel).
Joint Stereo and other encoders work without problems.

Another solution (I use 3.93) that works fine:
--noshort switch,
but it isn't recommended.

--strictly-enforce-ISO doesn't help at all.

He, yet ANOTHER reason why you should NOT add stuff to the alt presets...
hope some ppl learn from this wink.gif

EDIT: Damn, my Jazpiper c10 also seems to suffer from this bug ... blip-blop-twong-swong, sounds bad...
