I have had this question rattling around in my head for a while now. I installed one of the recent betas only to have my firewall software trap it trying to call out to the internet. Has anyone else had similar experience? For what reason would fb2k want to call out? ohmy.gif

Actually - yes. It happend exactly once and I was going to try to reproduce the situation before reporting, but forgot about it smile.gif.

Foobar tried to connect when I activated directsound config page and I suppose it has something to do with "device info" box and information if driver is signed or unsigned (which disappeared in latest betas wink.gif). Am I right?

I just went through the firewall logs and can't find any instances of foobar calling home.

I don't doubt you guys saw it, but maybe a plug-in was doing it. Is it reproducible and if so what DSPs are you using?

Or maybe it was MS update looking for a new driver?

Yes I think that it is driver/system related, but obviously triggered by foobar (I have ms-update turned off).
ogg
It's DirectX validating your soundcard drivers WHQL status.

OK, this is good to know. It had been nibbling at my paranoid brain for a while now. I would forget it happened and then remember and so on. I am happy to know 1) others have noticed it and 2) it is non-threatening. But it sure got my attention when it happened I will tell you.

Thanks folks. biggrin.gif
