Hello. A new foobar user here. luv the interface biggrin.gif so simple biggrin.gif
Anyway, I'm having a little problem here.
My foobar v0.586 sometimes doesn't 'sync' with the trebel level that I've set in the sound control panel.
Sometimes it will play my mp3/cd with the treble level that've set, but sometime it doesn't. I have to slightly move the treble level to make it "sync" back. Can anyone tell me why?

Using a creative A2 card here. Drivers are the latest version.

Get 0.6 and see if that fixes the problem. smile.gif

If that doesn't fix it, report back here with detailed specs (foobar output plugins, input plugins, dsp plugins, OS, chipset, whatever else might be pertinent) and hopefully someone else can answer.

Curi0us_George: Okay biggrin.gif downloading 0.6v now. smile.gif

for my v0.586, here is my config:
Output plugin: Kernel Streaming.
output data streaming: 24 fixed point, dither enabled
replay gain disabled
Input plugin: I can't see any input tabs.
Dsp plugins: Resample, advanced limiter, convert stereo to 4 channel.
OS: winXP with SP1
chipset: nforce2 SSP with v2.03 driver
soundcard: creative audigy 2 with the latest driver update.
Dibrom
Try a different output plugin. First thing to always try if you're having sound related problems and are using KS, is to use a different output. KS is *experimental* after all and not even generally recommended for common usage.

okay. tried v0.6.
The problem is still there.
Switched to DS. the problem is still there too.
Everytime when I start foobar for the first time (boot up my machine), I have to slightly move my treble bar (in sound control panel) so that foobar can sync my mp3 audio to the treble level that I've set in my sound control panel. I can close it and re-run it later and it won't give me back the problem. Just the first time.

sounds like a sound card driver problem to me.
Curi0us_George
That does sound like a driver issue. (But I could be wrong.)

not only to you

[edit] wow, reply rush
CyNics
but why no other audigy2 users complained about it??
Peter
simple.
there's no such thing as "treble control" in standard playback APIs provided by windows. it is a driver-side thing. driver is responsible for handling it, and if it doesn't work properly, there's nothing i can do about it because there's no "remind_creative_drivers_to_activate_treble_control()" function defined anywhere.
also, creative has been known to hire mentally-challenged people for driver developers.
