Full Version: Burning mpc files as audio cd...

I`m newbie with mpc, and I still search for the very best way to burn mpc files as audio cds.
I know that there is Nero plugin, but I dont like Nero `cos it can`t handle long file names.
I prefare to use freeware and cool Burnatonce.

I know that EAC has burning options, but it cant handle my mpc files (encoded with 1.14 and 1.15 encoder)
There is info box: "files not recogniozed as music files" inspite of these files were encoded with EAC.

And the second thing: is it normal that files encoded with 1.15 has "lags" when seeking with Winamp2 plugin 0.98 ?
I found that files encoded with 1.14 has shorter seek time with this input plugin (In foobar it seems that both file versions
has the same seek time).

Where I can find manual for switches in mpc ? what "--verbose --xlevel %1 %2" exectly means ?

This is not an issue with audio CDs I'd say.

I can't remember if you can burn mpcs directly with this software but IIRC there's been a thread about this lately you can find for sure using the search function. In case it's not possible, I'd recommend to use fb2k's diskwriter to decode the mpcs. This way you can decide how to handle replaygain information while decoding in a convenient way.

With this MPC can be burned with EAC:

you can burn MPCs with BAO, just add mppdec to the 'external' folder.

thanks a lot for your help smile.gif
It seems that mpc was a right choice for me (impressive HQ files with good size @ q5)
GermaniX
You can burn MPC also with our Freeware GermaniX AudioBurner smile.gif - but it is a beta at this time.

Is there anyway to pass switches to mppdec in BAO for gain usage etc? I had a quick look through the prog and their forums, didnt come up with answer.

I don't think so. You'll have to decode them manually to wavs with any switches you want, and burn from them.

The .zip file linked in my post above contains 3 different mppdec versions for EAC - one decodes using ablumgain, one using trackgain IIRC by default, without any switches.
Has anyone tried if they work with BAO?

Just took a look at that thread... Now I can't wait for 0.98 wink.gif

I know this isn't exactly what you're asking but I would think that the simply way of making an audio cd is just to decode them to wav's using mppdec.exe with your preferred Replaygain settings and then burn the wav's onto an audio cd.

in general.. using a custum build is actually great..
but when the decoder gets.. updated.. then what..

to have decoder string.. in ini.. is a easy sulution.. but
the most correct one i belive..

kinda like profile.. love the feature.. as jamie
says.. it have been used..

it seems like the cdrdao ppl. have lot to do this days..
so perhaps a BAO 0.98 is around the corner..?

Burrrn has fully configurable decoding commandlines.
