I downloaded mp3 and encspot's guess shows lame (old) or m3e. I never seen this two before.

I think lame (old) is any file encoded with a LAME version earlier than 3.70. Not positive, but I think I heard that somewhere.

Don't know about m3e...

m3e is an old freeware mp3 encoder (from the BladeEnc/8hz/etc. time period). I don't have any additional information though, and a google search returns only pages in Japanese.

m3e is a mp3encoder for MS-Windows and it has original VBR mode.
