Hi,
For better quality with same setting, which version of lame should I use?Shold I use lame3.90.2-ICL.zip (from www.hydrogenaudio.org) or lame 3.91.zip (from a normal site)
By the way,why does the ICL veersion created?what does it difference from the official lame?
ANd which can I download the ICL version?
tangent
They're both pretty much the same thing. 3.90.2-ICL is slightly faster though. 3.91 is also compiled with ICL but with different settings. There's no Dibrom's compile of 3.91 yet because he hasn't had the oppourtunity to do it.

What tangent said - either one is fine.

As for "official lame," there isn't any, mostly to avoid issues with patents. LAME officially is only available in source code form, so all compiles of it are unofficial (though a few of the developers - Dibrom and Mitiok, for example - do compiles that are widely used/trusted so are kind of semi-official).

Btw,where can I download Lame's source code?I visit its official site but there are only the stable version but no beta version to be download.

All functions in LAME should by definition be available, at least with any compile from the standard sources.

If you want non-stable sources, you have to grab them straight from the CVS server at Sourceforge. Go here for more information:
