Full Version: How to Rip a Track 0 (Blur - Think Tank SE)

I just bought the special edition of Think Tank this morning, and I'm trying to rip it
It's a CD-XA (I believe that's the right term, it has an Audio session and a Data session with videos) with a Track 0. You can get to the Track 0 by putting the CD in a regular cd player and start rewinding from Track 1.

How do I rip the Track 0? The rest of the tracks are seen by EAC and rip just fine. I tried to make a copy of the CD using Alcohol 120% and use EAC's Copy Range option, but I get silence. Am I supposed to use any special settings with Alcohol? Any other ideas?

If it helps, I'm on WinXP
I have a Lite-On DVD model LTD163 and Lite-On Burner 24x10x40 model LTR-24102B

use clonecd or something to read the data session then edit the cue manually to include it.

hmm never had that problem... (somehow missed the part about getting silence) ...could your drive not be able to read that part? do you have a friend with a different drive you can use? or how about starting from sector 32 or some other number other than the first?

[edit]
oh man, i just realized i have the same drive.. my DVD-ROM just died and the JLMS seemed to be a good deal+fast+region free-able.

[edit2]
after locking up EAC a half a dozen times with both my Yammy (which i KNOW i've ripped it before with) and my LTD-165H, i remembered what i used to use, WinDAC. loaded it, and even that one couldn't do it. odd odd stuff. i thought CDex was ripping it for a second, but it was only ripping the main track. odd odd stuff.

Have you tried Feurio?
I know it's able to make that kind of discs, but I'm not sure if you can read the hidden track.
http://www.feurio.com/English/faq/faq_voca...dex0music.shtml

You have to enable "Read index marks" and "Read index 0" when you're going to copy the tracks to the project (Press "More Details" in the copy dialog to see all the options).

You cannot make a direct copy, because it's a CD-Extra, and Feurio can't copy data tracks.

According to this page:
http://www.feurio.com/English/cd_roms/fram...e_list_ide.html
both your readers should be able to read index marks.

Edit: The Wave Player in Feurio works as a regular audio player, so you also have to rewind from track 1.
Better use the Track Editor to see if that index-0 of track1 is there.

I created a disc with index0 music in the first track in a CDRW, and was played and ripped with an Ultraplex 40x quite well, but my LG 32x burner couldn't play the hidden track.

When I tried to rip the track with "Read index 0" enabled in Feurio, the LG returned a Sense code error.
In EAC the drive returned a "can't find a matching read mode!" after a couple of minutes.

EAC and Feurio rip the index-0 with the Ultraplex 40x perfectly.

So, I guess the problem is more in the drives than in the software.
