Is the Resume playback after restart [R] and the Start playing on startup [S] working as intended?

This is how it works for me:

1) R checked, S unchecked:
i) Playing then quit => start playing at the same spot when foobar is launched.
ii) Stopped then quit => start playing first song in playlist when foobar is launched.

2) R and S checked:
i) Playing then quit =>same as 1)i)
ii) Stopped then quit =>same as 1)ii)

3) R unchecked, S checked:
i) Playing then quit =>same as 1)ii)
ii) Stopped then quit =>same as 1)ii)

Is this how it works for everyone else too? If it is how it's intended to be, it's ok, but I think it would be better if worked like this:
1) Remember playing position, regardless of if it's playing or not, but not start playing when foobar is launched.
2) Remember playing position, regardless of if it's playing or not, and start playing when foobar is launched.
3) As is

To change it to work like this it would be more like a Remeber playback position after restart for R, but it would offer the same functionality as now, and also the ability to remeber the position without starting playback.

I know this is a small thing, but it's the small things in life that counts... tongue.gif
Guess I'm a perfectionist, or maybe just stupid if it's something I don't get here.
Btw: I tried to search the forum.

I had noticed this too but I hadn't been too bothered to mention it as I can make it do what I want (restart from where it left off)

I agree however that it would be better if it did as you describe in your post.

I hope digging up this old thread is okay, but I was looking for a solution to the same problem. I was hoping I could have foobar2000 remember where it was when it was shut down, but not have it automatically start playing.

I had hoped [R] and [S] worked as upNorth suggested. I think this would be an improvement because it would add flexibility without losing anything. I think the usability of [R] and [S] would be improved since they would be independent functions (as it is now, [S] doesn't have any effect if [R] is selected). [R] could toggle the "remembering" functionality, and [S] could toggle whether or not foobar2000 automatically started playing on startup.

If "Follow cursor" is enabled, and [R] and [S] are unchecked, then it does basically what I want. I just prefer to leave "Follow cursor" disabled.

So upNorth's suggestion gets my vote, but I do agree this is minor.
