100 pounds, that's around $160... you don't have much choices if you want that kind of performance. Ti4200 or ATI Radeon 9500, basically. You should also make sure that you have a board which supports 1.5V AGP voltage. The first boards that had an AGP slot only supported 3.3V. (Only mentioning this since you also use an ancient OS...)

I can stretch that £100 to £150GBP = $240USD

Whats this about 1.5V AGP?

Can I not just get any GF4 ti4200 with 8x AGP, any cheap motherboard with 8x AGP and get WindowsNT to work with the graphics card???

If not, can anyone recommend a GF4ti4200 and a motherboard which will work with WindowsNT+SP6a (which includes the latest DirectX3 for WindowsNT)

[edit]

I have already got GF4ti4200 which works fine on Windows2K, but it will not work on WindowsNT. I need a powerfullesh graphics card to run a graphics program which will only runs on WindowsNT.

This program was designed for WindowsNT and will not run on any other Windows. I have tried 95, 98, ME, 2K, and XP !!!

Please help!!!

Compatibility mode? It's available in Win2k after SP2, and in XP and newer.
Try to set it to compatibility mode.

And remember - "Compatibility mode - trying to fool the programs and make your life easier."

What program is that, if I may know?

Sorry, i didn't know you'd buy a new motherboard as well. Then, the 1.5V thing is no issue. Your motherboard also doesn't have to support AGP 8x mode, 4x is enough. nVidia surely offers an NT driver, if you want to buy a Ti4200 (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp). The same goes for ATI (http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html).

In your (extended) price range, i'd go for an ATI 9500 pro or 9700 pro. They will be quite a bit faster than the Geforce Ti4200-8x/4800-8x. But a Geforce will probably be cheaper.

The latest nVidia drivers, 43.45, are available for GeForce4/NT.

My MB has agp 4x. I have also tried the latest drivers from Nvidia but they don't work. I get the blue screen and can no longer get into windows nt until I safeboot are uninstall the nvidia drivers

However, on my graphics card, it does not say anything about its compability with windows nt???

its only got 98,me 3k xp on the cover ???

This only depends on the driver, not on the card. Any graphics card will work on any OS, as long as there's a working driver available. Your driver crash is kinda weird... tried older drivers? You'll find many older versions on http://download.guru3d.com/detonator/

Did you read what I just said? Try running the same program inside of Windows XP/3k/whatever with a shortcut which has "Compatibility mode" set to Windows NT. It might work then, and it's an easy workaround.

BTW, which program?

I know there is a compatibility mode in XP, but didn't know it was in 2K. How do I just it in 2K?
