Appologies if this question has been asked & answered and I missed it. Is there an app to edit mpc's without decodign them to wav? To clip out long silent parts at the ends of some songs and whatnot.
No, not to my knowledge. It could be useful...

Vorbis already has widespread support on both UNIX and Windows. If you are looking to edit .oggs you can use goldwave or soundforge or pretty much any other app.
Vorbis is my first choice for audio compression, but it would be nice to have some other choices once in a while besides .mp3 and that godawful abomination .wma ... lol.
I think it would be very nice to see even a small command-line proggy for file editing, and perhaps some plugins for the bigger apps as well. Until this happens, few people will justify using it in any quantity.
These things are a sort of catch-22. Without the apps, there's no users, and without the users...etc.
Cheers.

I believe he meant editing without decoding, the same way Mayah's EditPro edits MP3.
