Hi,

I dont know if this should work or not, so Im asking (I did search the forum and I didnt find anything about this.. here must be though, I just didnt find it)

When I play an APE file for example, in a .rar archive with a .cue file in it, the player will load the .APE file and I can play it. But, the player will also load the .cue file; howerver, click on the track entries returns an error message.

Is this normal, shouldn't the .cue file play from the .ape file?

thanks for the help

Did you check that the cue has a relative path and uses the proper extension, ie. isn't something like "j:\blah\some album.wav"
DotNoir
YEs, usually the APEs are packed with a cue sheet that points to a WAVE... So the best thing to do is either extract the package or add a new cue sheet in the archive...

Ok thanks.

However, Im having a little bit of trouble

My .cue files goes like this:

PERFORMER "Billie Holiday"
TITLE "All Or Nothing At All I"
FILE "CDImage.wav" WAVE
TRACK 01 AUDIO
TITLE "Do Nothin' Till You Hear From Me"
PERFORMER "Billie Holiday"
INDEX 01 00:00:00
.....

I tried changing it to this:

PERFORMER "Billie Holiday"
TITLE "All Or Nothing At All I"
FILE "Billie.Holiday-All.Or.Nothing.At.All.CD.1.EAC.APE.[azaro].rar\CDImage.ape" APE <-- also tried leaving this to WAVE
TRACK 01 AUDIO
TITLE "Do Nothin' Till You Hear From Me"
PERFORMER "Billie Holiday"
INDEX 01 00:00:00
.....

this: Billie.Holiday-All.Or.Nothing.At.All.CD.1.EAC.APE.[azaro].rar\ being the name of the archive containing the .ape file. Do I have to extract the file from the archive? Is there a way to get around this?

thanks.

If you put the Cue Sheet inside the archive it can be read correctly without paths.

Why are you compressing compressed files?
louisgag
Well, Im not compressing them, but I download those from the internet.. And both the ape and cue file are packed in a archive...

change the above line to:

FILE CDImage.ape APE

but this thread should be removed anyway for breaking the forum rules (referring to illegal activities)

Ok. thanks a lot for your support peeps.

How do I designate a file inside the archive? If there is a way... If not, Ill simply extract my files...

Just edit the file and add it to the archive, ie, drag-n-drop in WinRar, and if a file with the same name exits I'll be overwriten
