I've got WinXp and a soundblaster Live 5.1.
Hi, I'm using Goldwave since i can thought.
At the moment a beta 5.003 or something like that.
Well the problem is this Message which appears when i try to drag&drop a Mp3 on Goldwave.

"Access violation at adress 07AB116E in module "Lameacm.acm". Read of adress C1A8FFF".

What the hell means that?! mad.gif Is there a chance that i can install an other codec as lame?
What should i do ? i need Goldwave. In other programms I can burn Mp3s, record them, convert them and play them.

I'm the first day in that Forum and hope at the right place.
Hope for help, tnx.

Welcome to the forum, Funlob. I can't offer much help with Goldwave (the last time I used it was somewhere around version 1), but you might want to check out Audacity instead. It is a freeware audio editor, and is able to use the L.A.M.E. libraries.

Edit: Fixed a formatting error.

I have no experience with GoldWave, but I though it was able to use the Lame dll. If that is the case, then you should be able to use the dll instead of the acm codec.

Is there realy nobody that can help.
ok I wait that day and then I'll go back to the routs(Win98Se)
I'm sure it'll work fine under this.

Any Ideas???

don't go back to 98

What version of lameacm are u using, alfa 3.94 acm won't work properly with ACM and WMA affected too.
Edit: sorry I don't know that LameACM does not support decoding.......
Guess you have to uninstall it!!

use the default FhG ACM (advanced) that comes with WMP, it's an excellent decoder like winamp, don't worry

Please use the new FhG 1999 (advanced) , don't use radium hacked (pro) 1997.......FhG 1997 has some bug, 128 kbps bug maybe if i'm right

I think that I'm understanding: you recently installed LameACM codec.
However, this codec is not able to decode. It seems that GoldWave is relying on acm to decode, and so is trying to use this to decode (import) your mp3 file.

Had this problem too first when installed cep 2and lame acm 3.92 already installed: resolved uninstalling/reinstalling lame acm.
Then had the problem when upgrading cep 2 to 2.1 and lame acm 3.93.1 already installed this time: again resolved by uninstalling/reinstalling lame acm.

lame.acm was originally made by robux4, our beloved matroska project leader. We have a lof of problems with it over at the Virtualdub support forums, and robux4 admits he hasnt looked at it since more than a year, as he found that the ACM API suxx, and AVI with it ( thats why we video encoders use ACM codecs, to encode audio from Virtualdub into AVI container ) ...
