I've had this problem recently because my .cue files point, most the time to an wave file and the music file is compressed (.ape most the time) and on top of that they are in archive. (.rar)

I know I can simply extract both these files and modify the .cue and everything will be ok, but couldn't foobar do it by itself? i.e. when it loads a .cue file that points nowhere, it either checks for the same file with .ape or .other things or asks the user where is the file (where in an archive...)?

i'm with you on this. Personally i think .cue implementation in fb (was?) sjit. I'm talking about ~5sec. rewinds after .cue song ends. Cant tell you about 0.6x bcoz no .cues on my hdd exists right now.

This has already been suggested, and has been pointed out as a Bad Idea.
