Anyone know a service like live365.com (which allows you to create your own internet radio station and broadcast it from your webpage, etc...but they only allow lo-fi MP3s), but one that allows Ogg as the audio
format?

thanks for any recommendations (or should I just install a shoutcast server, assuming my provider allows it)?

Well, you can use an Icecast 2 server, with the Oddcast source plugin for WinAmp 2. That is very similar to Shoutcast, and allows Ogg Vorbis streaming.

You can also get relatively cheap relay serving for Icecast 2 & Vorbis from www.mediacast1.com
I haven't dealt with them myself, though, so I don't know how reliable they are.

shoutcast is one of the best.
If you are looking for paid music downloads in ogg try http://www.allofmp3.com

I checked them out...but unfortunately they're very expensive (they charge a per simultaneous-listener fee...for 20 listeners you'd pay like $33, which is a lot of money for a little non-profit operation...I guess I'll have to stick with live365.com and their crappy 56kbps MP3 streams)

thanks for the tip anyway.

Look at peercast. You stream to one client. He streams to another. and so on. All for free.
