Hi,
I recently created several discs of approx 250 mp3's on each for my car mp3 stacker unit.
No problems playing in my car.
I visited a friend recently & created several folders on their computer & copied the mp3's into separate folders with 250 mp3's in each folder.
I could not change the file data in musicmatch on their computer as it was telling me they were "read only files".I was able to change the file properties of individual files from"read only" to "archive" which then allowed changes in musicmatch ok.
As the above individual file changes are very time consuming is it possible to change the properties of the complete folder from "read only" to "archive" in one hit & thus change the 250 tracks at once from "read only" to "archive".

Solution 1:

Select all files (ctrl-A), right click, properties, disable the read only switch, enable the archive switch, OK.

Solution 2:

Open the DOS prompt at the folder, and run
attrib -r +a *.*

Regards;

Roberto.

If you end up using Windows 2000 or XP in the future, all you have to do is right-click the folders and go to its properties. Turning off read-only for the folder will then change all the files' attributes underneath it.
