hi !
I wanted to share this with you.
For a long time, I've been searching
for a way to play AC3 soundtracks (ripped from
movie DVDs) on a standalone player.
Playing AC3 files on a standalone DVD player
is not as easy as playing MP3 files !
The player won't recognize the AC3 files as it
does with mp3s !
I found a solution : basically all you have to
do is to author a mini dvd on CD-R by muxing the AC3 with
a dummy Mpeg video file.
The dummy Mpeg video file I use is a blue screen
captured at 352x288. The file size is 40 Mo,
and the duration is 100 minutes.
This file has to be as small as possible of course
because there is no moving video, it's just a blue screen !
But I haven't managed yet to reduze the size...
Anyway, I muxed this Mpeg with my AC3, and it works !
I can read my AC3 soundtracks on my standalone dvd
player (I'm lucky enough that it can read mini DVDs)
Any suggestion to improve this method ?
Is it possible to reduce the file size of the Mpeg?
Does someone know a better method ?
I'd like to know...
Thank you!
