I have encoded some aac files using Nero to play on my Ipod but I get the feeling that there is some clipping going on. Is there a tool such as mp3gain to alter the gain of mp4 files to prevent clipping?

Thanks

There's an AACgain tool by DSPguru, but it's still on alpha stage.

Do you know the link to the alpha of AACGain?

I'd like to see this too. Is there anything else in the works? Something like MP3Gain in that it alters the files internally? This would be most helpful in hardware players where compatibility with something like ReplayGain is slim to none. From what I understand, AAC is going to work just like MP3 in that we will have to alter it internally, and then tag it if we later want to revert back. Is this correct, or will AAC (and MP4) be more like Vorbis and FLAC where we simply calculate the Gain values and the player does the work?
