Hi,

I have following problem - my GDI free resources -->0% quickly. How to free this GDI (i have >300mb free ram always)?

How to check which aplication fills GDI?
Gabriel
You are probably using a win95 based OS. I know that this is not the answer that you would like, but winNT based OS do not exhibit such problems.

Your problem is probably caused by an application not released some gdi handles. Due to the limited ammount available on win95, this is a big problem.
You should identify which application is leaking by closing applications and watching the available ressources.

Is there any way to free GDI from handles? Is there any way to check what is in GDI?

Ok first step is to load the system and do nothing at all... check the GDI resource and see what it is at. Then walk away and then come back and check it again. If it has gone down something that is loaded at startup is leaking the GDI resource heap, locate the problem by removing one program at a time from the startup procedure.

If thats not the case, load each program at least 5 times onto the computer check the GDI resource heap each time and find out if it has decreased all the time. If it has check the program by loading it again and see if it keeps on dropping, if it does then thats the program.

I use a Win9x based O/S and I have no problems with resources at all on my system.

Hope it helps.

Cheers

The same goes for me.

It looks like Mozilla Firebird eats my GDI resources. Windoze version, i have Windows ME - can somebody verify that (open many new tabs)?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; PL; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030516 Mozilla Firebird/0.6
